Welcome to the Supporting Youth Development Lab
Lead by Dr. Stephanie Craig, the Supporting Youth Development (SYD) lab is focused on understanding the development and treatment of severe behaviour and emotional problems in children and adolescents.
Working alongside community mental health partners, our current research is focused how emotion regulation and environment (e.g., parenting, early adversity) interact and contribute to the development of severe behaviour and emotional problems. We also aim to look at how these factors can be potential mechanisms of change across evidence-based treatments in the community. We are committed to addressing diversity and equality both within our lab and across our research projects. By partnering with community organizations and other stakeholders, we aim to translate our research findings into practical applications that create positive change.
